Escalade, two-way, bling-bling on e-bay

Just finishing up my Christmas list... add an over-sized, novelty necklace clock and we should be good to go.

So a lot has gone on since my last post (admittedly I haven't been great at updating this thing). I met Ildi, Mr. & Mrs. Lengyel, Beth, and Steph (I had already met Paul a while back). They were all very nice - I kept it together for the entire visit and then serenaded my parents with 15 minutes of screaming on the ride home.

Had a nice Thanksgiving... lots of turkey for dad, veggie crap for mom, and good dessert.

My father finished up with school for the semester (with an unprecedented amount of trash-talking to his fellow students (well, fellow student would be more accurate)).

As for me, I got a new toy (it's a talking puppy that is really fun (although I find it half as fun as Grandma)). I've started eating some rice cereal and have just been hanging out being cute.

That's all for now - updated pictures below.

Sacrilicious

Well, I was reminded last night that I haven't updated this thing in a while. I was also asked to post a couple recipes so I'll kill two birds.

So we were busy this weekend... got to see a bunch of friends last night (and met Laura and Steve finally), Mom took me to Target (I pretended to be asleep - that place is nasty!), and we saw Grandma and Grandpa. It was a lot of fun but we're all pretty tired today (I think the Yuenglings are partially to blame for my father's Sunday disposition).

Anyway, as promised...

Penne a la Vodka a la Big B
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (28 ounce) can whole peeled tomatoes
1/2 cup chopped fresh basil
salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup vodka
1 pound penne pasta
1 pint heavy cream

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook garlic in olive oil until tender, 1 to 2 minutes. Stir in tomatoes, breaking up a bit with fork. Stir in basil, salt and pepper and simmer 15 minutes. Stir in vodka and cook 15 minutes more.

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.

Stir cream into sauce and cook 10 minutes more. Toss with hot pasta.

[I usually use 3/4 pint of heavy cream. Also, I throw in some crushed red pepper while it's cooking. ~LHS]

Baked Onion Dip

2 cups sweet onion, peeled and finely chopped
2 cups shredded sharp provolone (or cheddar) cheese
1 package (8 ounces) lite cream cheese
1/2 cup mayonnaise

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spray small baking dish with cooking spray. Pour mixture into prepared dish and bake for 40-45 minutes until sides are brown and bubbly. Serve with crackers and raw vegetables.

Well, there you have it. I'll leave you with a couple of pictures - my Halloween coustume and me just being silly in my chair.

A Convocation of Eagles

So busy lately...

I started a band. I'm calling it A Convocation of Eagles (it just sounds nicer than A Murder of Crows and the seagull moniker was taken). I'm thinking that I'll probably play the bass guitar and will handle lead vocals.

We got to hang out with some friends last weekend. Here is a picture of me hanging with Aunt Colleen (Uncle Dave and his spit-up stains not pictured).

I also spent some time at home with Mom and Dad and the puppy. A few random pix (Max looks sad - he must be a melancollie...).

Luke "Monty Burns" Serignese

"Excellent."

Posted by Picasa

As of this past Friday, I'm weighing in at 12 lbs., 3 ounces, I'm 24.5 inches and I have a brainy 41 cm head. Given this growth rate, I'll be 90 feet tall by the time I start growing and will weigh a metric ton.

School starts tomorrow!

The Maine Man

My parents took me up to Kennebunkport for the first time. They took me to all of their favorite spots... Walmart, some bar my Dad likes (more than once), Freeport. We walked around a lot, spent a lot of time relaxing (not much sleeping) and even went to see Cyndi and Chris for baby pictures. I was glad to meet them but was feeling a little cranky so I decided not to smile for any of the pictures (looks like I take after my Daddy in that regard).

Other highlights from our trip:
Hanging out with Mom...

Playing Super Baby...

And just being cute...

But the trip wore me out. As soon as we got home, I decided to take a couch siesta...

The dowry juice is running...

So I met the future Mrs. Luke H. Serignese today at Matt's "vintage" baseball game (the Hartzogs now owe us three sheep and a donkey). We had a nice time - she's a cutie and we had fun watching the guys play old school baseball (especially when Matt was booed for letting a ball bounce when he could have caught it in the air - old school gentlemen's rules). Paul came out to meet the babies and it was a nice night.

Better call the vet...

...because these puppies are sick!
So I had a fun weekend - Mom, Dad and I hung around the house quite a bit. Max continued licking me at every possible opportunity. Aunt Colleen, Uncle Dave and Aunt Jenn came by and babysat for a couple of hours. They did a fine job (although I did go pretty easy on them!). Wait until next time... I'm going to have a few things waiting in my diaper for them.
My parents left to go see my future prom date, Allison Anne Hartzog.

She's a little cutie - 5 lbs., 6 ounces of newborn fun. She's invited to my playgrounp anytime.

Sleepin' it Real

Ok, everyone has been waiting a long time for an update (some have been waiting patiently...). As you can see, I've been busy meeting my family. Let me tell you - they are nuts!

It's been a nice summer so far. I've been spending a lot of time with Mom and Max and eagerly await each new installment of I Love Money.

We'll be headed to Jack and Abby's wedding in a couple of weeks (my first trip out-of-state). I'm going to bring my tool belt in case Jack puts me to work... deadbeat!

That's all for now - enjoy the pix!

Lord Cryington

Well, ok. I'm here. Apparently, everyone was getting anxious for my arrival because I was unceremoniously evacuated from my home for the last 41 weeks. I've decided to forego my appeal to the housing court (seriously, have you ever been there? gross.) and repay my parents by barely sleeping and spending nearly every waking moment crying. I've only been at it for a few days so we'll see how my parents hold up.

The birth wasn't too bad (I was born Thursday, June 26th at 2:05 PM - 7.0 lbs., 19.5 inches). Everyone at the hospital was cool (except one nurse named Sue and the monster that my parents handed me over to for what they are calling a circumcision). His picture below...

I thought for now that I'd post a few pictures of me and I'll check back in for updates from time to time.

Mike & Katie's wedding

I'm getting antsy in here. We're ticking down to my due date and I want out. I'm cramped, I keep missing episodes of Farmer Wants a Wife and my old man just opened the pool.

My parents took me up to Cohasset, MA (ignoring the advice of the doctor) for Mike and Katie's wedding this past weekend. We had a really good time but my parents were a little worried that I was going to show up while we were two hours from our hospital. No big deal - I'm still here and my old man got to enjoy the open bar.

Here are the parents of the year:

Oh, I should probably add a picture of the happy couple:

Good times. That's all for now.

Place your bets

Please allow myself to introduce... myself. My name is Luke Henry Serignese and I am a fetus. My intention is use this blog as a way to keep in touch with distant family and friends. I'll post pictures and videos from time to time and I'll probably weigh in on sports, politics and advancements in the epic struggle against diaper rash.

Umm... pictures to follow. I don't think my mother wants me posting pictures of her 8-month pregnant belly at this point so I'll hold off for a month or so. Actually, that reminds me - the degenerates that call themselves my friends and family are betting on the timing of my arrival. If you want in on the action, contact Colleen at smiley9188@aol.com. I'm not sure when the betting closing but I'd say that you should get on it soon if you want it. If you throw me a sawbuck, I'll give you the inside track.

Comments and feedback welcome.
